Travel Info & Where to Stay

Where to Stay

We have selected a few hotels, as well as a list of Airbnbs, in the Centro Storico Di Roma (the historic center). Here you are close to everything and a 10-15 minute cab ride to the wedding venue. There are many great hotels in the city if you prefer to stay in a different area.

Travel Info

We know traveling can be stressful! Find below some of our suggestions for getting to Italy and everything you’ll need along the way. Remember, its not just about the destination but also the journey to get there!

Airport Transportation

There are several ways to get from the airport to your accommodations.

If it’s your first time abroad, we recommend getting a taxi. Follow exit signs through the airport and you will see a sign for the taxis, where there are tons of cars ready to pick you up.

Public Transportation is another option and the cheapest. The Leonardo Express Train and SIT Rome Airport Bus will take you right to Rome’s Termini Station, which is centrally located and close to lots of popular landmarks and hotels.

You can also book a car that will be waiting just for you when you arrive! Follow the link here for our suggestion.

Flights

Google has a great feature to track flight prices and will send you email notifications when there is a change in price. We also recommend looking at multiple airports to get the best price!

We prefer to fly overnight so you are waking up in the morning at your destination.

We recommend booking your flight as early as 8 months but more than 2 months before travel.

Travel Documents

You must have a passport to travel outside of the US. If you already have a passport, make sure that is doesn’t expire within 6 months of travel! Getting your first passport & renewing your passport can take 3-4 months, so plan accordingly! There are expedited services in case of emergency.

Money

We recommend getting cash ahead of travel for the best rates. But no worries if you don’t, there are plenty of ATMs and you really only need cash for tipping. Tap to pay is everywhere!

Getting Around Rome

Uber is available in Rome and there is also the itTaxi app, the Italian Uber.

There is also plenty of easy public transportation, including the metro and buses. Click here for some tips!
